Description

At times the Windows security database may become corrupted, causing problems when installing some Windows components.

Symptoms

• Can't install IIS (Internet Information Services).
• An error while trying to install the IPv6 protocol.

Solution

If the problem is caused by a corrupted security database, it can be repairedby running the following command.

esentutl /p %windir%\security\database\secedit.sdb
